Special School − Activity
Present Activities:
  1. Survey and identification are continued throughout the year through resource persons located in every major villages of the area. ( We are very much grateful to staff of various Govenment agencies and staff of local schools for assisting us in identification activities. )
  2. Presently school provides educational and other facilities to 43 students.
  3. Students are introduced to concepts such as time/colour etc. and trained for personal hygiene.
  4. Yoga and special therapies are provided according to the need of individual student.
  5. Pre-vocational and Vocational training are provided to each student depending on individual abilities.
  6. Social gatherings, excursions, picnics and other social-group activities are arranged at regular intervals to develop social skills and for learning to interact with general public.
  7. We focus on adolescence problems from the age 11 onwards .
Future Activities: 
  1. To provide transportation facilities to students, which will make their travel, to and fro from school, comfortable and also to eliminate neccesity of an escort in most cases.
  2. To provide home training services to students and parents in very special cases.
  3. To arrange programmes for the parents of special child/ren regarding the activities of daily training and for dealing with behavioral problems.
  4. To set up 24 X 7 helpline for the parents of mentally challeged child/ren.
  5. To construct hydrotherapy pool.
  6. To educate general public of the area regarding phenomenon called mental retardation.
  7. To open permanent stalls at shopping malls/super bazars to sell produce and products from various vocational training units and also from units of grown-up special students.
  8. To establish manufacturing units to employ trained special students.
  9. Our ambitious project is to operate hostel for mentally challenged students of the school where parents are unable to manage and support their child/ren.
  10.  To operate early intervention units.
  11. To operate Autism units.
Activities conducted & successes

* State level Drawing Competitions by Disha School-Panaji. Forest Dept.–Panaji.
* Our students won 2nd & Consolation prizes at Draw. Comp. organized by Forest Dept.
* All Goa Group Dance competition by Gujarati Samaj-Margao and Sweekar- Ponda.
Won 3rd Prize in Dance Comp. & 2nd Prize for least prompting to our teacher.
* Blood Group testing camp for students and parents.
* Parents and Teachers Meetings at regular intervals.
* Participated in All Goa Drill Competition organised by Sweekar-Ponda (Won 1st Prize)
* Visit of organising committee members to four schools in Pune.
* Hand Writing competitions at regular intervals.
* Frequent Parents guidance and counselling camps by councellor: Miss Yogini Borkar
* Flag making and Dot joining competitions.
* Independence Day, Goa Liberation Day and Republic day celeberations are purposefully organised in presence of Special dignitories.
* Special Olympics Orientation programme.
* Programme on Autism: Jyot Society-Margao.
* Agarbatti making course: Janshikshan Saunstha – Porvorim.
* Mental Health week: North Goa District Legal Services Authority.
* Making of greeting cards, Rakhees, Envelops, Lanterns etc. as per the festivals.
* Night camps are conducted for testing independence in daily activities.
* Awareness programme for parents on ‘Understanding Disabilities, Dealing with Difficulties and Legal Guardianship by professionals.
* School Gatherings and Annual Sports are dedicately organised.
* Soft Toy making workshop: Mrs. Radha Wagh.
* Mehendi, Rangoli, Painting Programmes to inculcate pre-vocational skills.
* Assessments by experts at regular intervals.
* Seminars on State and Central Govt. schemes, Social Welfare meetings.

Activities for 2008 - 09

1) Won State Award for Best Institution in the field of disability by Directorate of Social Welfare Government of Goa. 2008 – 09. Rs.25, 000/- and Certificate.
2) Donation given of Rs. 5,42,000/- by Rotary Club of Rotary found at for conducting Vocational activities which include Diya making, Fancy Earthern activities, Tooth picks, Fancy Pots, Diwali Lanterns, Greeting Cards, & forth coming activities like File making, Candle making, Agarbatti making and Envelopes, Embroidery & Beeding.
3) Received two mini school Buses from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) by Hon,ble M.P. Shri. Shripad Y. Naik.
4)All Goa Badminton Tournament was organised (hosted) by our school with help of Special Olympics, Bharat from the academic year 2007 – 08 and 2008 - 09.

5) Various Special Olympic Camps attended by our Teachers all over India.

b)Miss Priyadarshani Raut – Handball - Bombay.
c)Mr. Premanand Naik – Football – Margao.
d)Mr. Premanand Naik – Basketball - Pondicherry; Cricket – Andhra Pradesh.

6) Rakhee Inaugration made by our Students was done in the hands of Hon. Minister Directorate of Social Welfare Mr. Sudin Dhavtikar.
7) Teachers attended Various Seminars every year in Goa and Outside Goa to enrich their Knowledge and use it practically for the betterment of Students.
8) Our school organised an Sensitization programme with help of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and Blind People Association (BPA), Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
9) Our Students won various prizes in various activities conducted all over Goa.

a) All Goa Dance Competition organised by Gujrathi Samaj, Margao – 2nd Place in the category of below 12 years and 3rd Place – above 12 years 2008- 09.
b) All Goa Drawing Competition organised by Disha School, Panaji – 1st Place – Dipikesh Karpurkar and 2 Consolation Prizes – Vibha Kanekar and Kraim Mirza.
c) All Goa Badminton Tournament Organized by Keshav Seva Sadhana in association with Special Olympics –
1st Prize – Soban Shaikh.
4th Prize – Karim Mirza.


d) 1st Place in All Goa Drawing Competition organised by Surekar, Ponda.
e) Drawing Competition organised by Forest Department under the heading Prey and Predator –
2nd Prize – Chandan Raut.
Consolation Prize – Soban Shaikh.
1) Visit of Sadguru Shri. Waman Pai to our School and giving guidance and blessings to our Staff and Students.
2)Visit of our Management Members and Staff to BPA, Ahmedabad (Gujarat).

Activities for 2009 - 10

1) Shifting of the School in the new School building from the academic year 2009 -10.

4) Rakhee bandhan programme conducted in the school.
5) Visit of Regional Zonal Manager of Corporation Bank and Donation of Rs. 50,000/-.
